A forum for food lovers alike to take pleasure in the joys of
wining and dining at home or on the go

I’m proud to announce that on May 16th I am producing From Farm to Tray - a sustainable food celebration to benefit Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen - the largest emergency feeding program in New York City serving 1,200 meals every single weekday to hungry and homeless New Yorkers.

The concept of From Farm to Tray is a celebration of food at the soup kitchen, challenging high profile NYC chefs to produce a ‘100 Mile Menu,’ where ingredients for each meal are sourced within a 100-mile radius. The idea for the fundraiser is firmly rooted in the approach to food that shapes the soup kitchen’s menu each week: the use of fresh locally grown produce, a commitment to nutritional balance and the importance of providing a variety of taste and texture.

This event is especially important to me because it is a culmination of my experience working with NYC charities and my passion for the culinary arts. It will be a fun cocktail reception with incredible chefs working together to help raise funds for an extraordinary cause.

Tonight CD was in charge of dinner & I was in charge of the wine. Couldn’t think of a better task for me! CD made a delicious sautéed chicken with paprika, accompanied by baked sweet potato & sautéed shishito peppers.

Our meal was delicious and our wine was an absolute palate pleaser. The 2009 Renieri Re di Renieri Toscana is a medium to full-bodied delight. Smooth with a very nice finish. I can definitely lounge and enjoy this great find with dinner or on its own. A must try for under $50!
