Dell’ Anima: West Village, NYC
We came off a recommendation from a restauranteur as a “must try.” We were a bit skeptical given our recent experience at its sister restaurant L’Artusi.Needless to say we were so impressed by the enticing menu and passionate service at Dell’ Anima that we made reservations to return a week later.
We enjoyed dining at the chef’s counter and watching him work his culinary magic. We loved every dish we ordered and highly recommend ordering different options and sharing them so you get the full experience. Definitely start off with three different bruschettas and make your way through the menu. It was difficult selecting our dishes as we salivated over every plate the chef prepared. After much deliberation we opted for the charred octopus with rice beans, chorizo & chicories (AMAZING), homemade pappardelle with duck ragu & pancetta (HEAVENLY), and the hanger steak with black river blue cheese (PERFECTION). We also devoured a side of brussels sprouts with red onions, smoked pumpkin seeds & dried cherries. We washed down our feast with an incredible bottle of 1998 Oddero.
Highly recommend any true foodie to experience Dell’ Anima.
